Alexandria Container and Cargo Handling Company Receives 9 Metro Rail Cars in Support of Cairo Metro National Project

On 30/12/2025, Alexandria Container and Cargo Handling Company received the vessel MSC ELMA at El-Dekheila Terminal, carrying nine metro rail cars as part of the shipments for the National Project of Cairo Metro, in a scene that reflects high operational efficiency and precise coordination in support of one of Egypt’s major national transportation projects.

Thanks to meticulous planning and professional execution by the Operations Team and Quay Crane Team, the unloading process was completed in record time and at unprecedented discharge rates, in accordance with a well-designed operational plan that included accurate loading and unloading calculations, while strictly applying international safety standards and codes. The metro cars were then transported directly to Cairo via the railway line connected to the Alexandria Container and Cargo Handling Company’s railway station.

In implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport, and in cooperation with the National Authority for Tunnels, the company successfully completed the discharge operations with a high level of professionalism, reflecting its extensive operational expertise.

In this context, MSC expressed its appreciation for the outstanding efforts exerted, sending a letter of thanks to Admiral / Alaa Ibrahim and to all members of the working teams involved in the operation, praising the excellent organization and high efficiency demonstrated during execution.
